Phoebe

Hyde

Phoebe's story began with a call from the Memphis Humane Society. Pheebs (as she is affectionately known as) was found with a beagle mix in the middle of a Memphis street. She walked right up to the car and hopped in. She was heartworm positive, underweight (97 pounds), and obviously used for breeding. Her tail has been lopped off too. However, none of this matters to sweet Pheebs! At some point in her life she was loved by someone. She is the quintessential Dane. She is a leaner and a lapdog!! She has blended well with our male Dane, Schnauzador, and 16 pound Westie. She has not been exposed to small children, but has done well with the multitude of teenagers that come through our home.
The food bowl or a sofa seems to be the only times that she growls, and those times are few and far between now that she knows she has regular feedings and a warm soft place to lay her goofy noggin!! We are working hard on her manners. She has an occasional accident and likes to countersurf a bit. While I believe she would be fine in a home with another dog, Phoebe is happiest when she is snuggled up with a human alone. This sweet girl deserves a home where she can have just that.
